Noel Dorsey Vernon, ASLA, received M.L.A., M.A. (history), and B.S.L.A. degrees from The Ohio State University, and a B.A. from Antioch College. She has served for many years as Associate Dean of the College of Environmental Design, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. A life-long educator (and learner), she also is a past Chair of the ASLA Historic Preservation Interest Group and a co-author of the Historic American Landscapes Survey [HALS] Guidelines for Historical Reports. Her areas of expertise are landscape history and cultural landscape preservation.
