Cultural Landscapes as Classrooms Prototype
This site is a prototype of the proposed full application. The application is not complete so many of the areas in the application are not available.
After you leave this page, you will be brought through a series of entrance pages to the Mt. Auburn Cemetery module. The first page places you outside the front gate of Mount Auburn Cemetery. Once you enter, you will be able to choose from 4 nodes via the pop-up map: Inside the Front Gate, Bigelow Chapel, Auburn Lake, and Washington Tower (When this part of the application is finished, you will be able to choose from all nodes of the map). You can zoom in and out of the map using the buttons provided and, by holding down your mouse button and moving the cursor around you can drag the map around to see different areas. When you click on one of the node locations, a page containing a Quick Time Virtual Reality (QTVR) panorama of that node will appear in the main window. Click on the photo caption to see the QTVR.
In each location there is a navigation bar with four categories: History, Views & Vistas, Features, and Special. You can navigate through the selections under each category by clicking directly on the selection. You can also choose to view the pop-up map or browse the archives by clicking buttons at the bottom of the navigation bar. In the archives section, a small version of each item is displayed on the page, and when you click on the image a larger version of the image appears in a pop-up window. Throughout the application, any of the pop-up windows can be closed by clicking on the close button in the upper left corner (Mac) or the "x" in the upper right corner (PC).
