Michael Albert is a Principal at Design Workshop, an international landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm with offices throughout the western and southern United States. With a broad and award-winning portfolio of work, his current and past projects include various private residential gardens in Aspen, Colorado, an urban redevelopment plan in Jerusalem, Israel, and an ecotourism plan for the Panamanian island of Isla Palenque, which received a National ASLA Honor Award. Bringing a progressive approach to his practice, Mr. Albert has been part of the winning interdisciplinary collaborations for the Urban Land Institute/Gerald Hines Urban Design Competition, the Designing Action International Competition, and the Boston Affordable Housing Competition. In addition, he has documented works of cultural landscape at both domestic and international level, including restoration alternatives for Prince von Pückler’s Muskauer Park, a war-torn landscape of the WWII European Theatre and bi-national World Heritage Site. Earning degrees in landscape architecture from Oklahoma State University and Harvard University, the latter with Distinction, Mr. Albert is a registered landscape architect, a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, and has served on the OSU Landscape Architecture Professional Advisory Council and the National ASLA Honors & Awards Advisory Committee.
