Scott Craver directs TCLF's editorial content, both online and in print. Before joining TCLF, he professed the history of art at a Franciscan university. Scott has conducted excavations in Rome and on Sicily and has led study tours of Italy, Greece, and Turkey. His scholarly articles and reviews are published in the Memoirs of the American Academy in Rome, the Journal of Roman Archaeology, the Encyclopedia of Ancient History, and Bryn Mawr Classical Review. He is the coeditor, along with Charles Birnbaum, of the recent hardbound volume Shaping the Postwar Landscape: New Profiles from the Pioneers of American Landscape Design Project (2018, University of Virginia Press). Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in classics from Mary Washington College and his M.A. and Ph.D. in classical art and archaeology from the University of Virginia. He is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome.
