Become Informed

Interpreting the tree’s rich history to the larger public is essential to promoting its preservation and securing its place in the folklore of the city. Becoming informed and helping others to do so, will help advocate for the Southern Live Oak's significance.

Become Involved

The opportunity to raise public awareness of this tree’s significance is great, particularly given its rich history and its highly visible location along a major city street. Becoming involved in the work of the Hundred Oaks Association will help bring attention to the tree and help to combat public works projects that threaten it. Also, make sure that local officials know that you object public and private projects that would threaten this grand oak.
