Sunnylands, the great modernist A. Quincy Jones-designed home of Ambassador Walter and Leonore Annenberg in Rancho Mirage, California, where countless world leaders and be-jeweled royalty mingled with great French Impressionist and post-Impressionist art, will be opened in an exclusive preview on Saturday, October 29, courtesy the Annenberg Foundation Trust and TCLF, in advance of its public opening. Because of TCLF’s important role in the Sunnylands project, a limited group of guests will be permitted to receive an expertly-guided tour of the estate and gardens, and dine at a festive lunch at the new visitors center. In addition, attendees will also have an exclusive tour of the iconic Kaufmann Desert House, the Richard Neutra-designed modernist jewel in Palm Springs that is all but inaccessible. Transportation will be provided throughout the day for the tour on Saturday and, on Sunday, transportation will be provided for those traveling to the San Diego Convention Center. A strictly limited number of tickets will be available and proceeds will support TCLF’s educational initiatives.
