While lightening strikes and disease have affected many of the cemetery’s historic plantings, the Rhododendrons continue to thrive. The greatest threat to these plantings is the high cost of cemetery upkeep and the budget limitations that prevent comprehensive maintenance of these amazingly enduring horticultural features.
