Conference: Second Wave of Modernism in Landscape Architecture in America (November 13-15, 2008 in Chicago)

Peter Lindsay Schaudt, FASLA, FAAR

Mr. Schaudt is a partner in Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects. For more than two decades, Peter has achieved numerous awards and honors, including the Rome Prize in Landscape Architecture. During his tenure as Principal of Peter Lindsay Schaudt Landscape Architecture, his work included the campus landscape at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and the garden at Midway Plaisance in Washington Park. During that time, Schaudt enhanced Chicago’s lakefront green spaces by adding 17 new acres of parkland and by using innovative green roof techniques over a parking garage at Soldier Field. Schaudt has worked on the design of three NFL stadium landscapes, advancing the “stadium in a park” theme.  Currently, Schaudt is in collaboration with a team in Toronto for the Nathan Phillips Square Revitalization. Volunteering his time, he serves on two Chicago mayoral design committees while also serving as a GSA National Peer where he has reviewed several landscape design security projects. As a member of the team for Chicago’s 2016 Chicago Olympic Design Committee, Schaudt designed several alternatives for the Olympic stadium. With a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Architecture in Design at University of Illinois Chicago, Schaudt was profoundly influenced by his mentor, Dan Kiley while he served as his associate for three years.
