The media and general public can help preserve this horticultural treasure by insisting that the Glendora City Council and the City of Glendora's Community Services Department, in conjunction with the Planning Department, take more action in regards to the maintenance of this landmark. For instance, the Historic Preservation Committee could apply for a Community Development Block Grant to fund a professionally-developed maintenance plan that would take into account the available finances for long and short-term care of the plants. This would help assure that the funds already allocated by the Community Services Department for the Glendora Bougainvillea’s care are efficiently utilized and that the plants are well-maintained.

Residents should also encourage the City to again promote the site as a tourist attraction. The City could bring attention to the resource by reviving the Bougainvillea Festival, possibly in conjunction with the City of Glendora’s Earth Day. By celebrating the resource, residents can bring attention to the resource and help protect it. Most importantly, printed and online information should be produced so that residents and visitors have access to the Glendora Bougainvillea’s significant history.
