Stuart O. Dawson, FASLA

Mr. Dawson is a founding principal at Sasaki Associates and a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He has served as project designer or project manager for over 70 projects that have been recognized with national and international design awards. He has served as design principal for Arlington National Cemetery, the Enid Haupt Garden at the Smithsonian, the Kennedy Center, the Herb Garden at the National Arboretum, and the Oklahoma City Federal Building. In addition to his design work, Mr. Dawson has been an instructor, guest lecturer, design critic and juror to numerous academic institutions such as the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, University of Guelph, Cornell University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Michigan, University of Illinois and University of California, Berkeley, and was a resident at the American Academy in Rome. He has served on design juries for the Presidential Design Awards, National Endowment for the Arts, American Academy in Rome, ASLA and The Waterfront Center. He is a founding member for The Boston Landmarks Commission, The Island Institute, and The Maine Islands Trail Association, and has served as Trustee and Member of the Corporation for the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, and as a member of the Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Institute for Urban Affairs and Policy Studies. In 1999, he was awarded the ASLA Medal.
