Ronald “Chip” Trageser, FASLA

Chip Trageser is a registered landscape architect with twenty-five years of professional experience. In November 2015, Mr. Trageser was elevated to Fellow at the American Society of Landscape Architects, recognized for his contributions to the profession and society at-large based on outstanding works of landscape architecture, leadership and management, and knowledge and service. Mr. Trageser, who has been with The Office of James Burnett (OJB) for 18 years, oversees design and operations in Houston, and has been responsible for various mixed-use, healthcare, and academic and corporate campus projects. He currently serves as the Principal-in-charge for numerous mixed-use and corporate campus projects in the Woodlands and Houston areas, as well as many projects on the Rice and Baylor University campuses. He is also overseeing the major redevelopment of Levy Park, a significant park in the Upper Kirby district in Houston that will create an active and vibrant gathering place for the nearby community, as well as a recreation destination for the City of Houston. Among his notable projects are the Rice University Brochstein Pavilion and Brockman Physics Building, CityCentre in Houston, Lakeshore East Park in Chicago, Klyde Warren Park in Dallas, and the recently completed Baylor University Fountain Mall. Mr. Trageser, who received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University in 1990, has served on the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture’s Professional Advisory Board for the past three years. He is also active in the Houston design community and is a current member of the Rice Design Alliance. His talks on therapeutic and meaningful landscapes and gardens have informed students and professionals alike.
