The fourth installment in this national series that places a critical spotlight on influential landscape architects of the 20th century will take place on November 6th.
It will focus exclusively on author, environmentalist, and landscape architect, John Ormsbee Simonds. Nationally recognized speakers from both public and private practice will include several who worked directly with Simonds spanning a 50-year period, along with academics who will explore Simonds’ influential professional activities, his built legacy and unique design philosophy. The symposium will illuminate Simonds’ influence on the City of Pittsburgh, the field of landscape architecture, and his pioneering environmental planning efforts.
