As a Project Associate, Bethany supports TCLF’s programs by contributing to the research, writing, and content management of the What’s Out There program. Bethany recently completed a Master of Fine Arts in Architectural History at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her graduate thesis investigated the work of Gannon & Hands, the first-known woman-founded architecture firm in the United States, founded in New York in 1894.  This research highlighted the firm’s creation of an idealized tenement plan, meant to improve housing for the city’s lower-to-middle classes. She has presented two papers on her graduate research at the Southeast Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historian (SESAH) annual conferences in 2022 in Memphis, Tennessee and in 2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Before TCLF Bethany worked as an interior designer and has worked with both the City of Santa Barbara and the City of Savannah, as well as the Isaiah Davenport Historic House Museum in Savannah, Georgia. Bethany holds an M.F.A. in Architectural History from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a B.F.A. in Interior Design from Samford University.
