Candace Young
Candace Young is the owner, founder of From The Ground Up, a residential landscape and garden design company.. Candace serves as Treasurer for Grow Native Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to educating homeowners about the importance of native plants for biodiversity. She also sits on the Fresh Pond Advisory Board which is implementing a master landscape plan and she volunteers her time working on an ecological restoration project there.
After over 20 years in finance and accounting she decided to pursue a new career in landscape design and now, later in life, those two careers are overlapping in unintended ways. With a B.S. from Northeastern in Business Administration she then attended UMass extension, NOFA, Radcliffe Landscape Design/BAC, and Master Gardener programs with the intention of obtaining knowledge in the industry “from the ground up”. The name of her design company “From The Ground Up” developed from a hands-on approach and dedication to continued learning.
She also serves as Treasurer of The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Care, another passion of hers to improve the state of healthcare. Candace lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her husband.
