Conference Proceedings (Video) from Landscape Activism
At the October 28, 2022, Oberlander Prize Forum II: Landscape Activism, notable design professionals, historians, and critics considered the ambitions and directions of activist practices today. Such practices range widely, encompassing individual designers and design firms, non-governmental organizations, and academic research. The event featured a diversity of voices and a unanimity of purpose: demonstrating that landscape architecture and design are a foundation for activism addressing race, gender, sexuality, the environment, and other pressing issues.
This Oberlander Prize Forum is part of the public engagement activities associated with the Cornelia Hahn Oberlander International Landscape Architecture Prize, a biennial honor that includes a $100,000 award. The inaugural laureate, landscape architect Julie Bargmann, was announced in October 2021. The next laureate will be announced on October 17, 2023.
