Connor Turnbull
Connor Ishiguro Turnbull is the owner of Connor Turnbull, Preservation Consulting, an independent preservation practice founded in 2019. She holds an AB History from Brown University, with a focus on architectural history, and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
In addition to her historic preservation practice, Connor serves on the Board of San Francisco Heritage. Her historic preservation work began in San Francisco in 1995 with Carey & Co., Inc. From 2011 to 2019 she and her family lived in Toronto, Canada, where she founded and co-chaired Leaside Matters, a neighborhood group advocating for Leaside’s cultural landscape. She also served on multiple municipal boards including the Canada Ireland Foundation, Architectural Conservancy of Ontario, North York Community Preservation Panel, and the City of Toronto Heritage Survey Technical Expert Panel, amongst others. Connor was born in San Francisco but has lived in and out of the U.S. throughout her life. Her diplomatic childhood has allowed her a broad perspective of culture. She also comes from a long line of architects with roots both on the East and West Coasts. She is a committed advocate for cultural landscapes.
