Cultural Landscape Foundation lists Muny among significant sites facing threats

Lions Municipal Golf Course and nine other properties around the nation face a variety of serious threats but merit preservation because of their roles in the struggle for civil and human rights, according to a nonprofit organization that advocates for landscapes of cultural significance.

The Cultural Landscape Foundation, based in Washington, included Lions Municipal, also known as Muny, in its annual report released Monday out of concern that the University of Texas might turn the course into a mixed-use development.
