On a day like today, landscape architect Harriet Pattison was born

October 29, 1928. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Pattison earned her B.A. from the University of Chicago. In 1958, she met architect Louis Kahn. Kahn played an instrumental role in Pattison’s life, encouraging her studies in landscape architecture and fathering her son Nathaniel in 1962. Her broad-ranging oeuvre includes the master plan for the Hershey Food Corporation’s Pennsylvania headquarters. In this image: Harriet Pattison, 2015.
