Eleanor works primarily on the Landslide and What’s Out There programs, writing essays for the database and coordinating associated events. Prior to joining The Cultural Landscape Foundation, she spent three years working as an architectural historian and cultural resources planner in San Francisco, California. She has surveyed and evaluated historic landscapes ranging from private gardens to master-planned military installations. Eleanor holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and an M.S. in historic preservation from Columbia University in the City of New York, where she completed her thesis on the evolution of iron-frame glasshouse construction and its impact on the American floriculture trade.
