A Moveable Feast
For the fourth consecutive year, TCLF is planning a garden program for a very limited number of attendees, in conjunction with the American Society of Landscape Architects' Annual Meeting this fall in Washington, D.C. This year's “Moveable Feast” will include a visit to three private, Oehme van Sweden-designed Georgetown gardens guided by principals from the firm.
The exclusive walking tour will kick off with an opening introduction by principals from Oehme van Sweden and Associates and will continue with a visit to the Connors Garden where attendees will be greeted with refreshments and led through the garden by those most intimately involved in its design. At the next stop, the Sullivan Garden, guests will be introduced to the garden design and escorted through the space by project designers. In the third and final garden, attendees will be able to enjoy the Brillembourg garden while dining on light fall fare. This curated tour will provide insight into these three very different spaces, while illuminating the larger framework that is both distinctly Oehme van Sweden and uniquely Georgetown.
The event will conclude with a celebratory reception at the Letelier Theater that will include the exclusive premiere of the James van Sweden Pioneers Oral History module and a seated conversation with Mr. van Sweden himself. This afternoon reception will allow attendees to see van Sweden reflect on his career, legacy of built works, and design philosophy and provide insight into what makes him a pioneer of American landscape design.
Tickets for the day-long event are extremely limited and include the tour, refreshments and lunch, and the afternoon reception at the Letelier Theater. Tickets to the afternoon reception are also available for purchase separately.
Join Jim van Sweden and TCLF’s Board of Directors for this celebratory event.
