This symposium places a critical spotlight on influential landscape architects of the 20th century and will be held on October 8th at the Lyman Estate in Waltham, MA.

Shaking Their Yankee Foundations: Evolving Modernist Ambitions * will place a focus on the unique Post War legacy of public and private landscapes during what is now thought to be an optimistic time of innovation and experimentation. Nationally-recognized speakers from the public and private sectors and the academic community will provide rare insight and analysis of this unprecedented era of design – from parks and plazas to gardens and subdivisions. The symposium will look both back and ahead, culminating in a panel discussion which explores what this Modern landscape legacy means in the 21st century design and historic preservation community.

The program includes a full day of lectures with catered lunch and breaks. SPACE IS LIMITED.
