G. Robert Derick, Raleigh, North Carolina

Seeking information about landscape architect G. Robert Derick; and how Derick, and other landscape architects employed by the National Park Service collaborated with communities on Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects.

A 1920 graduate of Massachusetts Agricultural College (now University of Massachusetts Amherst), Derick is listed in the school's June 1941 alumni news as a landscape architect for the National Park Service in Raleigh, North Carolina. Raleigh City Council minutes indicate he worked on Moore and Nash Squares in Raleigh as well as John Chavis Memorial Park (funded by the WPA) (pictured).
