Garden Dialogues 2022: Woodland, MN
All events will be subject to local guidelines on gatherings, including social distancing, wearing face coverings, and stay-at-home orders. Attendance is limited, not only to maximize the safety of those attending but to promote an intimate learning experience. The 22-acre Lake Marion Estate invites visitors to cross wetlands, traverse a remnant oak savanna, and navigate a pristine maple-basswood forest. The client asked only for access to the site and the opportunity to enjoy the diversity of the landscape. A network of linked paths with straight lines extend without interruption for as far as possible, emphasizing the topographical changes unique to the area. The paths converge at varied spaces for gathering and contemplation: a Zen raking garden, a floating hammock garden, a recessed fire pit, a sculptural mound, and recreational areas. At each juncture, the path warps into walls, recessed seating areas, and benches. Wherever a path meets a body of water, the material transitions to a raised wooden boardwalk. Wherever a path ends in the maple-basswood forest, the straight-line gesture is extended with distinct art installations of tree branches harvested from the site’s restoration effort .
The project was a comprehensive restoration of the entire property and wetland boundaries, returning the site to its native splendor and revealing its rare diversity.

Refund Policy
Cancellations and Refunds will be granted according to the following schedule:
Up to two (2) weeks in advance: 90% (Deduction represents administrative processing fees)
Less than two (2) weeks in advance but up to seven (7) days prior: 70%
No refunds will be made for cancellations seven (7) days prior to event
No refunds will be made for “No Shows” (a person who registers for a program but who does not cancel registration or attend the program).
Refunds will be processed as they are received or after the conclusion of the program, depending on the program date and when cancellation occurs. Refunds may take five (5) to seven (7) business days to process.
