Greendale Cemetery rhododendrons almost at peak

Meadville Tribune

The rhododendrons scattered throughout the cemetery date to 1875 when Herman Munz was hired to plant the grounds.

Since that time, the variety of flowering shrubs has won recognition by American Nurseryman and Garden Design magazines and was named one of the Cultural Landscape Foundation’s “Heroes of Horticulture” in 2007.
