Support the Oberlander Prize
On October 1, 2019, at the Consulate General of Canada in New York City, The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) announced renowned Canadian landscape architect Cornelia Hahn Oberlander as the namesake of the foundation’s recently established International Landscape Architecture Prize. The Oberlander Prize will be bestowed every other year, beginning in 2021, and will include an award of US$100,000 and two years of public engagement activities to honor a living practitioner, collaborative, or team for their creative, courageous, and visionary work in the field of landscape architecture.
TCLF has set a goal of raising $4.5 million to endow the Oberlander Prize in perpetuity, which will include funding for a curator, jury activities, and all related programming. Inspired by TCLF’s mission, Lead Donors Joan Shafran and Rob Haimes have generously provided the seed funding for the Oberlander Prize, which TCLF’s Board of Directors soon collectively matched. And in a separate initiative dubbed the 100 Women Campaign, the friends, colleagues, and admirers of Cornelia Hahn Oberlander have already come together to raise more than $800,000.
Giving your support to this milestone award in landscape architecture will help change the way the public perceives the profession and the way the profession perceives itself.
