Judge Dismisses Appeal Against Benjamin C. Bradlee’s Mausoleum
New York Times
On Wednesday [September 28], a judge dismissed an appeal by two groups that had sought to reverse an interpretation of the city’s construction code and reopen the project to oversight by historic preservation officials.
The Washington-based Cultural Landscape Foundation, which had filed the appeal along with the DC Preservation League, said it was reviewing the order to weigh potential next steps.
“We continue to believe Oak Hill Cemetery merits a level of protection and respect currently afforded to places of comparable or lesser historic significance,” said Charles A. Birnbaum, the foundation’s president and chief executive.
