Landslide In Action: Demonstration Grounds
Landslide in Action: Demonstration Grounds, a series of webinars and in-person tours, derives from The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s (TCLF) thematic report and digital exhibition Landslide 2024: Demonstration Grounds, which, as the New York Times reported, examined thirteen sites of significant protests in American history where the protests and acts of civil disobedience are at risk of fading from public memory, or worse, being forgotten.
Protests, civil disobedience, and dissent are not only a defining part of our shared history since the Colonial era, but they also continue to the present day on campuses, at political conventions, historic sites, and elsewhere. Retaining the memories of these events, and their inextricable links to the cultural landscapes in which they occurred, is not only an essential part of our broader shared history, but it also provides the inspiration for actions in the face of injustice.
