Lisa Calibani Lowry

Lisa Calibani Lowry is an active community volunteer who champions the cause of Historic Preservation in her city of Fort Worth, Texas. In 2002, she spearheaded the effort to obtain Local Historic District designation for her neighborhood of Mistletoe Heights and was given a 2003 Fort Worth Star Telegram Award for Outstanding Community Service to acknowledge this contribution. Ms. Lowry has been affiliated with Historic Fort Worth, Inc., the local partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, since 1993. Her roles with this organization have included Fund Development Chairman, Historic Properties Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Board from 2007 to 2009. In 2008, she led the Board of Historic Fort Worth, Inc. in the effort to educate, save, and promote sensitive restoration of the Lawrence Halprin-designed Heritage Park Plaza which had been closed by the City. Ms. Lowry and Historic Fort Worth, Inc. received the 2009 Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation which recognizes the highest achievement of an organization in the preservation of Texas’ historic heritage. She has served on the boards of Tarrant Area Food Bank; Texas Heritage, Inc.; North Texas Public Broadcasting, Inc.; and currently serves on the Boards of Preservation Action; Jewel Charity; and Historic Fort Worth, Inc.
