Ramsey Silberberg

Founded by Ramsey Silberberg, Mantle Landscape Architecture is a design firm rooted in the power of collaborative design. Our philosophy is that the built world is an expression of a larger collective force. We believe the most compelling designs are interdisciplinary and that our role is not simply to create evocative and innovative landscapes, but to solve problems and invent solutions. Mantle is Ms. Silberberg’s vision to create a thriving studio driven by client partnership, camaraderie, and a commitment to effect positive change through creative design. Her work reflects an equal mix of passion, creativity, and technical savvy. She has been a visiting instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, and her work has been published in the New York Times, Landscape Architecture Magazine, and numerous design books.

Statement: Mantle Landscape Architecture is thrilled to see such an important honor named for Cornelia Hahn Oberlander, a trailblazing woman who has inspired so many. Cornelia showed us that the pages of history books, design monographs, and awards lists could also include women. Perhaps more importantly, she has modeled that women can pursue their work and succeed, bringing the dignity of their own voice to projects rather than trying to fit into a mold traditionally defined by male landscape architects. As a studio deeply committed to building greater equity and diversity within the profession of landscape architecture, our contribution to the Oberlander Prize is only a small way of saying THANK YOU!
