New Online Guide to Chicago
Introducing the What's Out There Chicago Guide, featuring more than 60 parks, gardens, and open spaces throughout the metro-Chicago area. This latest online city guide from The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) includes individual site descriptions, designer biographies, and a rich narrative about the design development of the city, detailed through historic maps, plans, and photographs. It is comprehensive, interactive, GPS-enabled, and optimized for iPhones and similar devices—your perfect travel companion.
This profusely illustrated and detailed Guide is a component of TCLF’s ever-expanding What’s Out There, a free online database of the nation’s designed landscape legacy that features more than 1,900 landscapes, 900 designer profiles, and 10,000 images. The Guide and What’s Out There include What’s Nearby, a GPS-enabled function that locates all sites in the database within a 25-mile radius of any given location. The Chicago Guide is the fourth in this ongoing series of richly detailed What's Out There Guides.
The What's Out There Chicago Guide is made possible by contributions from the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, and Christy Webber & Company.
