TCLF/ASLA 2009 Silent Auction Tremendous Success

The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s (TCLF) is pleased to announce that the fifth annual Silent Auction, held this past month in concert with the American Society of Landscape Architects’ (ASLA) Annual Meeting in Chicago, was a tremendous success. In total, 85 pieces were included in the exhibit, with over 70 artists participating. The exhibit was centrally sited within the McCormick Conference Center’s Lakeside Building, which provided panoramic views overlooking Lake Michigan from the auction space.

The reaction to the breadth and diversity of the work was extremely positive. Our preliminary estimates suggest that the Silent Auction earned nearly $42,000 and more than half of our winning bidders were first-time participants. So, many thanks to those of you who donated your work and those of you who participated in the bidding!

TCLF would also like to thank our sponsors for the event, ASLA, our Partner in Education, and Monrovia, our Silent Auction Presenting Sponsor. It is the generous support of ASLA and their commitment to making this event such a success that allows us to direct financial resources to our education initiatives, which we make available online, for free to the general public, researchers, students, and professionals.

See you in Washington, D.C. next year!
