Julie Donnell is the founder and president of the Friends of the Parks of Allen County, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote the stewardship and celebration of the parks and public spaces in Fort Wayne and Allen County, Indiana. Ms. Donnell is the former chair of the Allen County Historical Society, a member of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Historic Preservation Review Board, and she chairs the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department Park Legacy Committee.

She also teaches voice at Indiana University–Purdue University, Fort Wayne.
