Project Associate (Graphics/Research)
Working from the foundation’s offices in Washington, D.C., the successful candidate will support TCLF's various programs, including What's Out There®, Landslide®, and Pioneers of American Landscape Design®. Specific tasks include writing texts, conducting research, photography and photo editing, website content management, basic graphic design, and event planning. Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and a strong interest in all aspects of the history, theory, and practice of landscape architecture are essential.
TCLF is headquartered in light-filled offices in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s, Dupont Circle neighborhood. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, and in accordance with CDC, state and local guidelines, team members are also welcome to work remotely. Duties:
- Writing historical and biographical essays
- Researching topics related to landscape history, using printed and online sources
- Maintaining and managing website content, both textual and graphic
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- An educational background in landscape architecture
- Strong writing and verbal skills
- The ability to cull information from a variety of texts and sources
- Proficiency with Photoshop and InDesign
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Skills in posting to social media and managing website content (specifics to be taught on the job)
- Excellent attention to detail
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency with After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Proficiency with HTML
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is negotiable and based upon experience. TCLF offers an attractive benefits package with health, RX, vision, and dental plans; paid leave and holidays; and a Matching-Simple IRA retirement plan.
