The Cultural Landscape Foundation has launched a new Kickstarter campaign to help fund production of a Gallery Guide for the new traveling photographic exhibition, The Landscape Architecture of Lawrence Halprin (1916-2009).

This exhibition, featuring 55 newly commissioned photographs, will present the life and work of landscape architect Lawrence Halprin on the 100th anniversary of the year of his birth. Halprin was among the foremost landscape architects of the twentieth century. His prolific career spanned more than five decades, with highlights that include the FDR Memorial (in Washington, D.C.), Freeway Park (in Seattle, Washington), the Portland Open Space Sequence (in Portland, Oregon), and the Haas Promenade (in Jerusalem, Israel). The exhibition will also include rarely-seen glimpses into several private gardens designed by Halprin early in his career.

TCLF is producing the exhibition in collaboration with the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., where the exhibition will debut on November 5, 2016. The 88-page Gallery Guide is the largest produced by the foundation to-date and will feature the work of professional photographers (who all donated their time) from across the country, along with information about the history and design of the featured Halprin project.

TCLF has until October 06 to secure the costs of Gallery Guide. Rewards for pledges, dependent on amount, include a copy of the Halprin exhibition gallery guide and tickets to the exhibition at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. We hope that you will help spread the word and consider supporting this project.
