Terry Warriner Ryan, FASLA, combines conceptual thinking with knowledge and attention to detail to create enduring landscapes. As a partner at Jacobs/Ryan Associates since 1982, Ms. Ryan has practiced landscape-architectural planning and design for private entities, government agencies, and non-profit institutions. Her most well-known work has been in the public realm, where she has been able to express her love for the native plants of the Great Lakes region, where she works. She has designed landscapes for such well-loved and award-winning project as the Chicago Riverwalk and the Regenstein Learning Campus at the Chicago Botanic Garden. She most recently won a 2019 American Architecture Award for her work on the Crerar Science Quadrangle at the University of Chicago.

Statement: I enthusiastically support the founding of a prize for landscape architecture, and I congratulate TCLF and Cornelia Oberlander for this major achievement. Cornelia Hahn Oberlander is a trailblazer for women landscape architects and an inspirational proponent of social justice and ecologically based design.

*Special thanks to Maglin, Unilock, Landscape Forms, Live Roof, and Sempergreen for supporting her to date with contributions for the Oberlander Prize.
