Walker Macy is recognized throughout the American West as a leader in landscape architecture, urban design, and planning. The firm brings creative design approaches to a variety of public and private spaces, including urban parks and plazas, waterfront revitalization, university campuses, and cultural landscapes. Its projects have been transformative in building community, fostering environmental stewardship, and enhancing the identities of cities, campuses, and institutions, and its staff are passionate about creating beautiful, meaningful, and resilient places that last.

Founded in 1976, Walker Macy has grown to include offices in Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, with a team of landscape architects and planners that is diverse and interdisciplinary in approach. The firm is a registered Women Business Enterprise, and its partners include Chelsea McCann and Lara Rose. Their work on major public landscapes has advanced the firm’s reputation for high-quality design, innovation, and leadership on complex projects.

Statement: The ethos that underlies Cornelia’s practice is deeply inspiring. As mothers and practitioners, we feel connected to her focus on improving the lives of everyday people, children, and communities. And as a firm with longstanding Northwest roots, we appreciate Cornelia’s early commitment to environmental stewardship. We are contributing to this award in honor of a professional legacy that we strive to continue in our own practice.
