Federal Regulators don’t want to know Extent of Threat to Weyerhaeuser Campus
As noted in The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s (TCLF) recent letter to the Army Corps of Engineers concerning the proposed warehouse construction on the historic Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters, there’s broad agreement that the development would negatively impact the site. The question is how much. If measures are to be taken to minimize and mitigate the negative impact, it would be helpful to have visual simulations and other documentation that would illustrate the problem.
Unfortunately, when advocates for Weyerhaeuser asked for an independent third party to develop visual simulations, the Army Corps said no. They acknowldge that there will be adverse effects, but they don't want to know the extent. This is just one of the issues raised in TCLF’s letter (below).
