Lynn Osborne Bobbitt

Lynn Osborne BobbittLynn Osborne Bobbitt is the Executive Director of The Brackenridge Park Conservancy (BPC), a nonprofit organization, formed in 2009 to be a steward of and advocate for Brackenridge Park established in 1899. In this capacity, she acts as an advisor to the City of San Antonio regarding all development in Brackenridge Park as outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding administered by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Ms. Bobbitt has worked for thirty years in the nonprofit community in San Antonio to preserve the history and culture of the City. For fifteen years, she was the Vice President of Riverwalk Jazz, a Nationally Syndicated Broadcast Project in partnership with internationally acclaimed Bandleader Jim Cullum and award-winning broadcast producer Margaret Pick. The 52-week public radio series documented the history of classic jazz from 1920s to World War II. Ms. Bobbitt served as the President of the San Antonio Conservation Society in the early 1980s. During her tenure, she worked to create the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, recently designated a World Heritage Site. She served for three years on the San Antonio Mayor’s Historic Structures Task Force created to revise the local Historic Preservation Ordinance and develop an inventory of historic resources for City Council adoption. Additional work experience included: Project Director of nonprofit to establish a public radio station in San Antonio, the largest city in U.S. without a public radio station, Texas Public Radio; and, Historian, Historic Sites and Restoration Branch, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
