Leilah Powell

Leilah Powell is the Chief of Policy to San Antonio Mayor Ivy R. Taylor, focusing on issues such as long-range planning, the regulatory context for development, smart city partnerships and equitable growth. She was the founding Executive Director of the Brackenridge Park Conservancy and has worked for the public and private sectors in government relations, historic preservation, community development and affordable housing. She holds a Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture, where she is a member of the Advisory Council, and an undergraduate degree from Stanford University. She has served on the boards of the San Antonio Section of the American Planning Association, the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and her neighborhood association, among others. She is a native San Antonian.
